My Approach to Care

She/her/hers

The only constant in life is change. Navigating change, whether it be positive or negative, can feel overwhelming. When we are faced with hardships in life, often a fresh, nonjudgmental perspective can make a huge difference in the way we feel. Counseling is an effective way to handle going through the changes of life, no matter what you are struggling with.

In my therapy, I value human connection, autonomy, mutual respect, and a deep understanding of the self. I use a person-centered approach, centering the client's needs and wishes in every session. I believe that each person is the expert over their own life. Utilizing a tool such as counseling can help guide you to reach your goals, whatever they may be. I believe that through compassion, consistency, and dedication, we can build a therapeutic alliance and tackle any changes life may throw your way.

I am a 2nd year student at Cleveland State University, with Theresa Olson (LISW-S) as my supervisor. I have had the opportunity to be practicing at New Care Behavioral Health for just over a year. My experience prior to counseling includes teaching in the early childhood education field. My expertise in child development has contributed greatly to my ability to understand my clients.

I have worked with clients of many different ages and walks of life, ranging from children to older adults. I provide a safe and comfortable space for each client to feel themselves, going at a pace that they feel works best for them. Counseling is not a sprint, it's a marathon, a journey of self with many twists and turns.

If you feel we would be a good fit, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or inquiries. I am currently taking clients on Tuesdays and Thursdays, ages 13 and up (virtual or in-person).
