Kara is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with adolescents and adults experiencing trauma, PTSD, depression, eating disorders, substance use concerns, and life’s many challenges. She takes a collaborative, strengths-based approach, utilizing evidence-based therapies such as CBT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy to help clients build resilience and create meaningful change. Kara is committed to providing an affirming, supportive environment where every client feels safe, respected, and empowered throughout their healing journey.

My Approach to Care
Kara is a Licensed Professional Counselor who brings a grounded, thoughtful approach to therapy, shaped by her clinical training at the University of Akron and her work across inpatient, residential, outpatient, and community-based settings. Her experience within both mental health systems and nonprofit organizations allows her to meet clients with flexibility, nuance, and care.
At New Care Behavioral Health, Kara believes therapy should be collaborative, affirming, and responsive to each person’s lived experience. She works from a strengths-oriented lens, helping clients identify what’s already working while building practical tools for growth. Her clinical style integrates evidence-based practices including CBT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy, Feminist Therapy, and Solution-Focused approaches.
Kara provides affirming care to LGBTQ+ individuals and is committed to creating a therapeutic space where clients feel safe, respected, and understood. She works with adolescents and adults navigating trauma, PTSD, depression, eating disorders, dissociation, and substance use concerns.
Kara offers both in-person and telehealth services through New Care Behavioral Health. She values steady, intentional progress and partners with clients to build insight, resilience, and meaningful change—on their own terms.
